Rakesh Choudhary founded Calcinum in 2026 and personally builds and maintains every calculator on the site, more than 130 tools covering paycheck, tax, mortgage, retirement, health, and construction math, along with the state-by-state tax data that powers them.
Before Calcinum, he built and continues to run IndianPayCalculator, a salary and pension calculator platform for Indian government employees, doing the same work of turning dense official pay regulations into tools people can actually use.
Rakesh holds a PhD in Sociology. He is not a CPA or licensed financial advisor, and Calcinum does not give personalized advice; what the doctorate does shape is method. Every bracket, rate, and threshold on this site traces to a primary source, the assumptions are stated, and the math behind every calculator is shown on the page so you can check it yourself.
How content gets reviewed
- Primary sources only. Federal figures come from IRS Rev. Proc. 2025-32 and the OBBB Act; the Social Security wage base from the SSA; state rates from each state's revenue department, cross-checked against the Tax Foundation.
- Re-verified on change. All 51 state configurations are re-checked each January and again whenever a state passes mid-year rate legislation.
- Transparent math. Calculator pages show the formula and a worked example, not just a result.
